Description
Sagamore Golf Course is a resort course in Bolton, New York, designed by Donald Ross and opened in 1928. It plays to par 70 over 18 holes at 6,821 yards, set among Adirondack woods, upland meadow, heather, narrow hardwood-lined fairways, undulating greens, deep bunkers, and hills and ponds. The opening hole is a par-4 that dips downhill with views of Lake George and the Adirondacks. Hole 3 features deceptive bunker placement — the bunker appears to sit beside the green but is actually 40 yards short. Hole 11 is a 171-yard par-3 risk-reward hole, and hole 17 is a par-5 whose hogback green dominates almost the entire length. Golfweek's Best ranked Sagamore Golf Course among the Top 200 Resort Golf Courses in 2020. A practice range and professional instruction are available on site. The 1928-style Clubhouse includes an award-winning Pro Shop.

Tom McCrackenAugust 16, 2019All that really needs to be said is that it is a Donald Ross course. You must work to get a good score. After a tough winter the greens are in fabulous shape. only criticism of course is it does not take rain well since there are drainage issues caused by natural streams. it is quite amazing sometimes being able to drive a cart out on The fairway when it is so wet. Hardly ever do you see issues related to the carts on a wet surface. Give yourself a pat on the back if you get a par or better on number 7 and number 13.
