Royal West Norfolk Golf Club

Royal West Norfolk Golf Club, commonly known as Brancaster, was founded in 1892 with the course laid out by Holcombe Ingleby. Remarkably little has changed since then, and many of Ingleby's original holes remain in play today. Set right on the North Norfolk coast in England, the 18-hole layout measures 6,457 yards and plays to a par of 71. It is a true links course, routing outward largely inland before returning along the coast. The outward nine stretches to 3,409 yards, while the inward nine comes in at 3,048 yards — shorter on paper, but the prevailing coastal wind can make it the harder half by far. The course is not long by modern standards, but the exposed conditions along this stretch of the Norfolk coastline demand respect and careful course management on every round.
