Royal Ship Sapporo Golf Club

Royal Ship Sapporo Golf Club is an 18-hole hillside course in Ishikari, Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan, built across terrain crossed by multiple ravines, with holes laid out to weave between them. Despite some narrow stretches, the layout is designed around ride-on carts, with spacing between holes adjusted so that each plays relatively flat. Sitting on elevated ground above Ishikari Bay, wind is a constant factor and managing it is key to a good score. For self-play rounds, marker poles with small wind streamers are placed 220 yards from each tee to help with alignment and distance judgment. The greens are gently contoured, and targeting the center tends to be the most reliable route to scoring well.
