Royal Porthcawl Golf Club

Royal Porthcawl Golf Club, opened in 1895 in Porthcawl, Wales, is an 18-hole private links designed by Ramsay Hunter. The course runs on a gentle slope down to the shore, free from sand dunes, with uninterrupted sea views from every hole. The tournament record is extensive: the Walker Cup (1995), the Ladies Open Championship, the Curtis Cup, The Amateur Championship, The Senior Open Championship, the Penfold tournament (1932 and 1933), The Dunlop Masters (1961), and the Coral Welsh Classic (1980–1982). Practice options include a choice of two putting greens, a chipping green with two sand traps, and a five-hole par-three Academy Course available complimentary to guests. A Professional Shop is on site. The Dining Room seats up to 70 and serves breakfasts alongside fine and informal dining, with panoramic views of Rest Bay, Swansea Bay, the 18th green, and the opening hole. Dormy House accommodation is also available.
