Description
Rivermead Golf Club has occupied the same stretch of land in Aylmer, Gatineau, just metres from the Ottawa River's north shore, for over 100 years — and it remains a popular round among Hole19 golfers in Quebec. The 18-hole championship layout was fully redesigned in 1989 by architect Ken Skodacek, working with Ken Venturi. The renovation brought all greens up to USGA specifications and introduced bent grass throughout the greens, fairways, and tees. Spread across gently rolling terrain, the par 72/75 (men/women) course is walkable and offers four sets of tees ranging from 5,359 to 6,559 yards. Slope ratings run from 122 to 130 for men and 123 to 135 for women. Practice facilities include a driving range and a short game area with putting green, added in 2015. That same year, members approved a golf course Master Plan to guide ongoing improvements. A Centennial bridge near the 18th green, dedicated in 2010, marks more than a century of golf at the club.
