The par-5 18th hole at Rawls Course at Texas Tech University sets the tone for what this Tom Doak design delivers: 578 yards from the back tees with a 4.5-acre lake running in front of and along the right side of the green. Opened in 2003 in Lubbock, Texas, the public layout plays 18 holes at par 72 across 5,493 to 7,349 yards. Doak shaped the course around valleys and canyons, with elevation changes up to 30 feet, wide fairways, and boldly contoured greens. The course has hosted NCAA regional Men's and Women's championships, the NJCAA National Championship, U.S. Open and Amateur qualifiers, and AJGA events. Golfweek has ranked it #2 among courses you can play in Texas and #3 among campus courses in the country. It is a popular round among Hole19 golfers in Texas. Practice facilities include a 375-yard horseshoe-shaped driving range spanning 22 acres with four acres of teeing area and three target areas, a putting green beside the first tee, and a short game area with a chipping green and bunker. Jerry's Grill at the clubhouse serves breakfast and lunch.
