Description
Pärnu Bay Golf Links is a true links course set on a coastal stretch of land in Pärnu County, Estonia, built on sandy soil and covered with fescue grasses. The 18-hole, par-72 layout plays from 4,500 to 6,200 meters, offering a genuine test for golfers of every level. The course was designed by architect Lassi Pekka Tilander, with Mick McShane serving as lead shaper — a name associated with the Castle Course at St. Andrews Links and Kingsbarns Golf Links. It holds the distinction of being the first links course in the Baltic region. Wide fairways and expansive sand areas define the layout, while multi-leveled greens with bold movement add a demanding finishing challenge. Jürgen HahnJune 22, 2020Sehr schön angelegter Kurs als Mischung aus Parkland und Links Kurs. 2/3 der Bahnen verlaufen im Wald mit teilweise großzügigen Fairways. Die letzten Bahnen nähern sich der Ostsee ohne dass diese jemals ins Spiel kommt. Generell gibt es viel Wasser, dass außer bei extremen Slices/Hooks kaum ins Spiel kommt, zudem retten dann häufig langgezogene waste areas, die auf vielen Bahnen das Fairway einsäumen. Waste areas und Bunker sind fair - zu bespielen. Ohne Wind sind die sehr stark ondulierten Grüns die größte Verteidigung des Platzes. Fairways und Grüns waren (Ende Juni) in einem Top-Zustand. Ärgerlich waren nur viele nicht zurückgelegte divots. Ausreichende Übungsmöglichkeiten sind vorhanden; Restaurant hatte an dem Tag geschlossen. Wenn man in Estland/Pärnu golft, ist der Platz ein Muss.
