Park Hills Golf Course (East)

Park Hills Golf Course (East) is an 18-hole, par-72 public parkland layout in Freeport, Illinois, stretching to 6,503 yards from the tips. Designed by C.D. Wagstaff and opened in 1955, the course plays across rolling, tree-lined fairways with bunkers and elevation changes throughout the routing. Hole 5 is a par 3 where the green slopes away on both sides and a deep bunker guards the front. Hole 7 is a tree-lined hole that requires an uphill third shot to a green sloping severely from back to front, protected by four deep bunkers. Golf Digest Places to Play has rated the course 3-1/2 stars for great value and good service. Practice facilities are shared with the West course and include a 300-yard range with natural grass tees and 15 hitting stations, plus two large putting greens. The pro shop carries clubs, apparel, and accessories, and staff handle club regripping and shaft repair. The Legacy Pub serves breakfast and lunch with last call at sunset.
