Nurtau Golf Club

Nurtau Golf Club is Kazakhstan's first golf course, an 18-hole, Par 72 layout set within the Alatau sanatorium complex in the foothills of the Trans-Ili Alatau, Almaty. The course stretches 6,800 metres across rolling parkland, with an open front nine giving way to a wooded back nine. It was designed to welcome both beginners and experienced players, though scoring well is far from straightforward — eleven of the thirteen par 4 and par 5 holes are doglegged, and additional hazards keep the challenge consistent throughout. The European Challenge Tour has visited annually since 2005 for the Kazakhstan Open, the only event at that level in Eurasia.
