Description
Hole 12 at Norton Country Club sets the tone for what this private 18-hole layout in Norton, Massachusetts is about: a par-3 of 180 yards over water to a kidney-shaped green, with out-of-bounds waiting long. Designed by Brian Silva and Geoffrey Cornish and opened in 1955, the course runs 6,546 yards from the back tees across a Scottish-style links layout built on old farmland. The front nine plays tight and tree-lined, while the back opens onto treeless fairways with high rough and pot bunkers. Water comes into play on 11 of the 18 holes. The Grill Room serves Friday Night Dinner Specials, and the club operates a full-service banquet facility with a ballroom that seats up to 175 guests or 250 for cocktail-style events. A new pro shop was built for the 1999 season.
