National Golf Links of America

National Golf Links of America is a private 18-hole course set on Peconic Bay in Tuckahoe, New York, covering 253 acres. Founded in 1908 under the leadership of Charles B. Macdonald and built with the assistance of engineer Seth Raynor, the course was designed to bring the best qualities of British golf to the United States. Macdonald studied courses across Scotland and England before breaking ground, and the result includes faithful interpretations of some of golf's most celebrated holes: the Road Hole and Eden from St. Andrews, the Alps from Prestwick, the Redan from North Berwick, and the Sahara from Sandwich. The course has long drawn golf architects seeking to study its challenging and enduring design features, cementing its place as a lasting reference point in American golf course design.
