Montecristi Golf Club

Montecristi Golf Club is an 18-hole layout in Manabí Province, Ecuador, where desert terrain meets the fertile lowlands of the region. At 6,719 yards, the course plays shorter on paper, but a creative design, sand traps, and persistent winds make it a genuine test for experienced players while remaining approachable for beginners. The surroundings are part of the experience. Cacti, algarrobo trees, ferns, palms, and other native flora line the fairways, and rounds are frequently accompanied by the vivid sunsets the region is known for. The signature hole is the par-3 13th, measuring 190 yards, with its green set between two ravines. From there, players look south toward the church and hill of Montecristi — often draped in clouds during summer — and north toward the Bay of Manta and the Pacific Ocean.
