Matsumoto Asama Country Club

Matsumoto Asama Country Club is a 27-hole hillside course in Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture, Japan, designed to incorporate the surrounding Alpine scenery as both a visual backdrop and a practical aiming reference for golfers. Bunkers are clearly visible from the tees, making it straightforward to pick targets off each box. Many holes feature a sloped bank along the right side of the fairway, and generous space has been left behind the greens to accommodate overhit approaches. Although the overall layout carries an elevation change of 50 metres or more, the intervals between holes are arranged to ease the transitions, keeping each individual hole feeling manageable rather than severe.
