Matsugamine Country Club

Matsugamine Country Club is a 27-hole highland course in Joetsu, Niigata Prefecture, carved out of the foothills of Mount Myoko. Despite the hillside setting, the fairways play largely flat, giving the course an open, approachable feel. Wide corridors framed by acacia and alder trees take much of the pressure off the tee shot, leaving golfers free to swing with confidence. The challenge builds on the approach. Large bunkers are positioned to narrow the entrance to the greens, demanding precise ball-striking and careful club selection into each hole. That contrast — generous off the tee, exacting into the green — defines the character of the course.
