Maritzburg Golf Club is a semi-private 18-hole course in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, designed by Bob Grimsdell. Playing to par 72 from 5,987 metres off the back tees, the layout sits on relatively flat ground threaded by a meandering stream and dams, with bunkers adding definition throughout. Practice facilities include a 400-metre driving range with undercover bays, a bent grass putting green, a 100-metre chipping area, and professional coaching through Lessons with the Pros. The club has hosted the Braaider Cup. The Golden Horse Pro Shop handles equipment needs. The Pub & Grub restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner on selected evenings, with seating on an expansive veranda overlooking the course — sundowners included. Matthew De BarrosDecember 23, 2020Wow absoultey loved this course. It was very wet at the time. If anything the grass was growing too quick. Some thick rough, great fairways and medium paced greens made for a awesome day out. Not a long course but some very tricky holes with some great elevation makes this undoubtedly one of the best courses to play on Pietermaritzburg!
