Maccauvlei Golf Club

Maccauvlei Golf Club, opened in 1926 in the Free State, South Africa, is an 18-hole, par-72 parkland layout designed by George Peck and Major S.V. Hotchkin. The course plays between 5,239 and 6,631 yards across tree-lined terrain shared with wildlife and birds. Hole 17 is a par-4 featuring a giant bunker that slopes up from the fairway toward the green. From hole 13, a six-hole stretch regarded as the course's piece de resistance closes out the round. Maccauvlei ranks in the Top 50 Golf Courses in South Africa and has been recognised by Golf Digest as the best play value versus cost per round among those top 50 courses. It is rated 4.4 by 100+ Hole19 golfers and is one of the most-played courses in Free State on Hole19. Practice facilities include a driving range with balls available from the Pro Shop, a putting green, and a resident Pro for tuition and advice. The halfway house serves breakfast, lunch, and snacks from a patio overlooking the 1st and 18th holes. The Presidents Lounge is a pub with a big screen and a fireplace. On-site accommodation is available through the Dormy House.
