Description
Lynwood Country Club is an 18-hole layout set in Pitt Town, one of five historic towns founded by Governor Macquarie in 1810, about 50 km north-west of Sydney. The course takes its name from Lynwood House, a colonial-style property built around 1814 that still sits within the grounds. Designed by Graham Papworth, President of the Australian Golf Course Architects Association, the course covers 230 undulating acres in a links style. The layout measures 6,400 metres at a par of 72, making use of natural undulations, wetlands, and native rough throughout. Practice facilities include a driving range, a practice green, and a short game area with greens and bunker practice. From the colonial-style clubhouse veranda, most tees and greens are visible, with the Blue Mountains providing a wide panoramic backdrop. Ken HuiFebruary 21, 2026Good condition despite dry spell, better than expected. You would not be able to find your ball once it gets into the rough, which there are plenty along with water hazards. Surprised to find the many bunkers are not just ignored hard pans! Overall an enjoyable corse that demands controlled shots despite the vast expanse with perhaps only one tree !
