Lakewood Country Club

Rated highly by Hole19 golfers, Lakewood Country Club in Lakewood Township, New Jersey is a public Walter Travis design that opened in 1903 and stretches to 6,589 yards over par 72. The layout runs across gently rolling acres with small, fast greens, bunkers, and woods framing many holes. The back nine turns hilly, with the green on hole 12 sitting some 40 feet above the fairway. Hole 6 is a par three defended by bunkers on the right, woods on the left, and an undulating green. Hole 18 is a long par four that closes out the round. The course has been highly rated by the USGA and hosted the 1922 Met Amateur. Practice facilities include a fully grass driving range with covered tee boxes and multiple target greens, a large putting green, a practice sand trap, and lessons available from the course pro. The clubhouse features Maggie's, a casual taproom and eatery in a historic 1885 mansion, with an outdoor Tiki Bar and an Underground nightlife hub for music, comedy, and sports. A pro shop is also on site.
