Konosu Country Club

Konosu Country Club is a 36-hole woodland course set on flat terrain surrounded by rice paddies in Konosu, Saitama Prefecture, Japan. Water defines the challenge here. Ponds appear in a remarkable variety of shapes and are woven into nearly every hole — in front of tees, around greens, and along fairway edges. Only one hole is entirely free of water, meaning virtually every shot demands a decision about how to navigate the threat. Managing the ponds off the tee, on the approach, and into the green is the central strategic task the course presents.
