Kent State University Golf Course

Kent State University Golf Course was an 18-hole, par-70 layout located in Franklin Township, Ohio, purchased by Kent State University in 1966. For roughly 50 years, the course served the local community in a variety of capacities — hosting university and community leagues and acting as a training ground for area high school teams. It was a fixture in the Northeast Ohio golf scene for much of its history. Kent State announced the closure of the course at the end of the 2016 fall season, citing five consecutive years of declining revenues and mounting operating losses amid broader financial challenges facing the Northeast Ohio golf industry.
