Kahkwa Club

Hole 7 at Kahkwa Club — a 445-yard dogleg right par 4 known as The Monster — has defined this Donald Ross design since it opened in Erie, Pennsylvania in 1918. Hole 3 adds a different test: a 171-yard par 3 played over water to a two-tiered green. The private 18-hole layout stretches to 6,365 yards at a par of 72. Ross's work here has drawn consistent recognition, including a 9th-place ranking among Pennsylvania courses in 2023 by Golfweek and a 36th-place ranking by Golf Digest. Practice facilities include a driving range with target greens and two teeing areas, three putting greens, a short game area with two greens and bunkers, and a Junior Golf Academy for players aged 5 and older with group instruction from PGA professionals. The Golf Pro Shop carries merchandise from Titleist and Johnnie O and provides club fittings. The Ross Room and Main Dining Room serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. The Veranda, with patio seating adjacent to the 10th tee, opens during warmer weather.
