Iron Horse Golf Course, a municipal layout in North Richland Hills, Texas, was designed by Dick Phelps and opened in 1990. The 18-hole, par-70 course stretches to 6,700 yards across terrain shaped by century-old oak, mesquite, and cottonwood trees, emerald Bermuda fairways, two meandering creeks, a working railroad trestle, and unique bunkering. Golf Digest has awarded it a 4-Star rating, and the Fort Worth Business Press has consistently rated it one of the toughest courses in Texas. Rated 4.1 by 50+ Hole19 golfers, it is a popular round among Hole19 golfers in Texas. Practice facilities include a driving range with a turf tee-line Monday through Friday and grass tees on weekends, a putting green, two chipping areas with bunkers and contoured grass, and year-round instructional programs for juniors and adults taught by PGA professionals. The clubhouse includes a full-service restaurant and bar serving burgers, sandwiches, salads, wraps, and Continental specialties prepared fresh daily by an executive chef and culinary team. An open-air event pavilion accommodates up to 200 guests, and three authentic caboose cars serve as on-course facilities.
