High 1 Resort

High 1 Resort is a public 18-hole course set at 1,136 metres above sea level in Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon-do, South Korea — the highest golf course in the country. Playing to par 72 over 6,592 metres, it sits along the Baekdudaegan mountain range, where summer temperatures rarely climb above 25°C and cool highland air keeps conditions comfortable year-round. The layout follows the natural contours of a broad mountain plateau, with the ridgeline of the Taebaek Mountains filling the horizon throughout the round. Reduced air resistance at altitude gives drives noticeably more carry than at lower-elevation courses. The course was designed with balanced difficulty across holes, so the challenge builds consistently rather than clustering in one stretch. Early morning rounds here combine forest air, open highland views, and a terrain unlike anything found at courses lower down in South Korea.
