Hawthorn Woods Country Club

Hawthorn Woods Country Club, a private 18-hole course in Hawthorn Woods, Illinois, was designed by Arnold Palmer and opened in 2006. The layout moves across rolling fairways with streams, lakes, marsh, and elevation changes woven through natural landscapes. Hole 1 sets the tone with a dogleg left flanked by natural marsh and towering trees. Hole 6 is a par 5 that plays uphill the entire way, requiring three full shots to reach the green. Practice facilities include a one-acre driving range with four green targets, an expansive 100-plus-foot putting green, and a chipping green with bunker shots up to 45 yards. Individual and group lessons are available from three golf professionals, including PGA Head Professional Greg Roberts. The club has hosted the Illinois Open Championship in 2008 and from 2011 through 2015, along with the Illinois Senior Open in 2024 and 2025. The restaurant serves seasonal menus, weekly features, casual lunches, and elevated dinners. A Golf Shop handles tee time requests for members.
