Hawkstone Park Golf Club (Hawkstone)

Hawkstone Park Golf Club (Hawkstone) opened in 1920 and was designed by Bert Sheppard. The parkland layout sits amid medieval castle ruins, 18th-century follies, cliffs, and a ravine, with water hazards and bunkers adding further definition across the 18-hole, par-72 course. Several holes stand out. The par-4 7th carries stroke index one, with out of bounds running the full length of the right side. The 10th plays toward the follies, the 11th offers views of the cliffs and plays as a bunker-free par 4, and the 12th is a par 3 with a moat of water surrounding the front portions of the green. The 18th, a par 4 named after Sandy Lyle's father Alex, closes the round. A 6-hole Academy course is available for additional practice. After the round, Lyle's bar is on site for refreshments. Hawkstone is semi-private and rated 4.6 by 100+ Hole19 golfers.
