Description
Half Moon Golf Tennis & Beach Club has hosted the Jamaica Open Golf Championship in 1975, 1990, 1991, 2006–2012, and 2017, along with the European PGA Seniors Tournament (2003–2004), the Celebrity Players Tour Jamaica Classic (2003–2005), and the Dunhill Cup Final of the Americas. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and opened in 1962, the 18-hole, par-72 layout in St. James Parish, Jamaica stretches from 5,035 to 7,120 yards across a former sugarcane estate. Fairways run along the slopes of the hills overlooking Half Moon, with shallow-faced bunkers, contoured greens, and trade winds off the Caribbean Sea shaping play throughout the round. The course appears in Golf World's Top 100 and has been recognized among the Best Golf Resorts in the World by Today's Golfer. Practice facilities include 20 grassed driving range bays, a putting green, a bunker practice green, and a 50-yard pitching green. The Half Moon Golf Academy, led by Kevyn Cunningham, provides instruction tailored to individual goals and ability. The Golf Pro Shop stocks clothing and accessories and is open 8:15 am to 3:45 pm.
