Hakodate Golf Club

Hakodate Golf Club is a hillside course in Hakodate, Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan, playing over 18 holes across a layout that uses 9 physical holes with alternate tees and greens to create distinct outward and inward nines. The club was founded in November 1927 and relocated to its current site in August 1936. Holes 2, 4, and 5 play on relatively flat ground, while hole 6 features a downhill tee shot. The remaining holes demand a carry over a valley that cuts across the fairway roughly 130 to 180 metres from the tee — managing that crossing is the key to scoring well here. Because the course was built by hand, lies can vary noticeably once you leave the tee, so staying alert to the ground conditions throughout each hole is essential.
