Hole 17 sets the tone for what Granite Ridge (Ruby) asks of its players: a par 3 tucked under the Niagara Escarpment, scenic but loaded with hazard. That Escarpment influence runs through the course, which sits in Halton Hills, Ontario, Canada and opened in 1996 as an 18-hole public layout playing to par 70 and up to 5,900 yards. Water hazards and bunkers appear throughout the routing. Hole 1 opens with a water carry on a par 4, hole 4 is tree and bunker-lined on the par 5, hole 9 backs a par 3 with a pond, and hole 11 presents a risk/reward par 4.
