Golfklúbbur Grindavíkur - Húsatóftavöllur

Golfklúbbur Grindavíkur - Húsatóftavöllur sits along the road to Reykjanes Lighthouse, west of Grindavík and about 7 km from the Blue Lagoon. The 18-hole layout is divided into three distinct sections, each with its own character. The upper holes play eastward into the lava fields from the clubhouse, then turn west before finishing at the famous 9th green opposite the main building. Three holes cross cultivated meadow land, and the final stretch runs along the coastline, with five holes playing directly beside the sea. The closing 18th, a par 3 beside the old clubhouse, leads back to the current facility. The course sits on a tectonic fault zone where the Eurasian and North American plates meet, and open fissures are visible from several holes on the upper section. That geological setting gives the layout a rare natural character. The course is considered relatively accessible for golfers of all levels. A clubhouse opened in July 2012 covers 170 square metres and seats up to 100 people, making it well suited for group events and corporate outings.
