Golf du Lac de Tignes

Golf du Lac de Tignes, designed by Philippe Valant and opened in 1969, sits in Tignes, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France, and is recognised as the highest golf course in Europe. The 18-hole, par-68 layout stretches to 5,005 metres across terrain shaped by lakes, ravines, streams, narrow fairways, and elevated greens. Hole 18 is a standout, requiring the ball to travel more than 420 metres to the finish, where a buffet and prize-giving ceremony take place. The course hosts a full calendar of competitions, including the Open de Tignes, the PACHOUD Cup Mémorial, the Ryder Cup Tignes vs La Rosière, the Coupe Alpine Collection, and the Championnat de France des ESF, among others. Practice facilities include a driving range with 15 stations — four of them covered — and a dedicated putting green. The course is open to the public.
