Golf Club de Lyon (Les Sangliers)

Rated among the most beautiful courses in France, Golf Club de Lyon (Les Sangliers) in Balan, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, draws consistent praise from golfers who have played it. Designed by Hugues Lambert and opened in 1991, the 18-hole, par-72 layout stretches to 6,575 metres from the back tees across woods, water, and natural terrain. Semi-private access means visitors are welcome alongside members. The course has hosted the Open de France 2001, Gounouilhou 2005, Championnat de France amateur dames in both 2010 and 2023, La Golfer's 2022, and Coupe de France Messieurs 2012. Off the course, a shared practice facility is available.
