Glacier Wood Golf Club

Hole 12 at Glacier Wood Golf Club sets the tone for what this course demands: a downhill par three played over an environmentally protected area, where the margin for error is narrow and the setting is entirely natural. Designed by Larry Packard and Art Johnson and opened in 1966, this 18-hole semi-private course in Iola, Wisconsin plays through hilly terrain shaped by glacial history. Glacial rocks line the layout, tree-lined fairways alternate with open stretches, and undulated green complexes add variety throughout. Natural wildlife is part of the landscape. The driving range covers a 19,000 square foot natural grass hitting area with four target greens and a depth of 275 yards. Two practice greens handle putting and chipping, and Head Golf Professional Andrew Harvey offers customized lessons including chipping, pitching, and putting, with group sessions available. The Rustic Grill is open Monday through Saturday, 11am to 8pm. The pro shop carries merchandise, with a 10% discount for members.
