Germiston Golf Club

Germiston Golf Club, situated on the banks of Victoria Lake in the heart of Germiston, Gauteng, is one of the finest woodland courses remaining in Ekurhuleni. Established in 1897, it has preserved its original Old English design through more than a century of changes — a course that has genuinely stood the test of time. The 18-hole, par-72 layout presents a real challenge. Long par 4s and demanding par 3s will test any golfer, though the more forgiving par 5s offer a chance to recover dropped shots. Wide kikuyu fairways, lightly framed by bunkers, tend to leave a clean lie for approach shots. The greens are small, well protected, and slightly raised — the course's primary defence. The back nine winds alongside Victoria Lake, producing some of the most picturesque holes on the property, which is part of why the course has earned the nickname "The Gem."
