Designed by Willie Park Jr. and Harry Colt, it opened in 1904 and plays across fast-running fairways with tidal ditches and undulating greens throughout the layout. Oliver JamesMay 25, 2019Excellent greens extremely fast and pristine, definitely some of the best greens in Essex. Shame about the fairways they really let the course down, extremely patchy and dead in places but they were running a long way. I found most of the holes were very similar to each other so the course was not as exciting as I hoped but at only 6200 yards it’s not a hard course to play to handicap.
