Friar's Head

Friar's Head is an 18-hole course set across 350 acres in Baiting Hollow, New York, designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw and opened in 2003. The guiding philosophy here is one of options and creativity, giving golfers room to think and shape their way around the layout. The par-four 15th is the course's signature hole, stretching 460 yards from an elevated tee. The drive must carry or avoid a cavernous bunker that collects wayward shots as the fairway slopes from right to left. The approach then plays to a green sheltered at the rear by trees, which offer partial protection from winds coming off the Sound.
