Foster Golf Links in Tukwila, Washington, is one of the most-played courses in Washington on Hole19 — and its history runs deep. The land was homesteaded in 1853 by Joseph Foster, a government scout and packer, making it one of the first public fee courses on the West Coast. George Eddy built the opening 9 holes in 1925, adding the second 9 within two years. Governor Louis F. Hart stepped up as the first on the tee at the facility's opening, with Joe Aliment as his caddy — a man who would go on to own and operate the course for many years. A maple tree planted by Joseph Foster not long after the Civil War still stands on the property, its trunk bearing a bronze memorial plaque marking the site's place in local history. The 18-hole layout carries that legacy with every round.
