Forest Akers Golf Course (East)

Forest Akers Golf Course (East) is an 18-hole public course in East Lansing, Michigan, ranked #18 among the Top 25 Best College Courses in 2021 and one of the most-played courses in Michigan on Hole19. The facility carries strong credentials beyond the course itself. Golf Digest recognized it with an Editors Choice award in its 2022 Best Golf Schools and Academies list, and the Golf Range Association of America has ranked it among the Top 50 Public Ranges every year from 2014 through 2025. The course also served as the host facility for the 2022 NCAA DIII Men's and Women's Cross Country National Championships. Practice infrastructure is substantial. A 20-acre practice area, opened in 1997, includes a three-acre bentgrass practice tee, two separate teaching tees, practice bunkers, target greens, and 18 heated covered hitting stations open year-round. A 20,000 square-foot putting green is also available. Two full-service pro shops stock MSU merchandise on site.
