Farmington Woods Golf Course

Designed by Desmond Muirhead, Farmington Woods Golf Course is an 18-hole semi-private layout in Avon, Connecticut, set across terrain that shifts markedly in elevation. Streams, woods, water hazards, elevated greens, sand traps, and undulations all come into play across the round. Two holes stand out for their character. The par-5 12th is a long, tight dogleg right that begins near the course's highest point and finishes near its lowest. The par-4 15th is a dogleg right where a double water hazard guards both the tee shot and the approach to the green. Practice facilities are thorough. The driving range sits between the first tee and the ninth green, holds up to a dozen golfers at once, and includes a sand trap practice bunker alongside natural grass tees and Astroturf mats. A putting green with a chipping area is located next to the Clubhouse Pro Shop. Individual, group, and corporate lessons can be arranged at the range, putting green, or on the course itself. The clubhouse includes a full-service restaurant and a patio.
