Essendon Country Club (Old)

Essendon Country Club (Old) is an 18-hole, par-72 parkland course stretching to 6,800 yards, designed by Fred Hawtree and opened in 1976 in England, United Kingdom. The layout is tree-lined and undulating, with several holes that reward precise shotmaking. Hole 2 is a downhill par-3 of 200-plus yards from the white tees, playing to a two-tiered green. Hole 3 is a par-5 sharing a double green with the 11th. Hole 7 is a dog-legged hole with a striking oak tree positioned in the middle of the fairway. Rated 4.6 by 100+ Hole19 golfers, it ranks as one of the most-played courses in England on Hole19. Practice facilities include a Toptracer Range System installed in March 2023 with two covered areas, two putting greens near the first tee, a short game area for pitching, chipping and bunker play, and a swing studio with simulator, launch monitor and high-speed cameras. Adult and Junior Academies are also available. The Courtyard Kitchen serves breakfast from 7am, lunch from noon and early evening dining daily, with Sunday roasts held in the Grand Barn.
