East Devon Golf Club is an 18-hole heathland course in Budleigh Salterton, England, opened in 1902 and rated 4.6 by 50+ Hole19 golfers. The layout sits on clifftop terrain with rolling ground, natural slopes, gorse, and heather throughout, with views of the Jurassic Coast. The 16th tee is among the course's most recognised features — Peter Alliss described it as the best view in golf. East Devon holds rankings in the Top 100 Golf Courses in England and the Top 100 Golf Courses of the British Isles, and carries Women In Golf Charter status. It has hosted the 2012 Ladies County Finals, the 2017 English Club Championship, and the 2018 English Girls Open Championship. Access is semi-private. A putting area sits beside the clubhouse, and Restaurant 19 serves brunch, lunch, or coffee and cake.

Richard SarbuttsOctober 01, 2021We played East Devon recently as part of a four day break where we had also played Royal North Devon and both the courses at Saunton (East and West). We found the whole experience at East Devon to be excellent. The course is very picturesque and some of the views are spectacular which enhances a challenging course. There are some very tight holes which demand precision off the tee. The green were medium paced (Sept) but consistent. The staff in the club house were incredibly welcoming and in terms of value for money if surpassed the other venues. We had an excellent breakfast, 18 holes and a first class carvery for £75. If you planning a trip or just in the area I would highly recommend a visit.
