Down Royal Park Golf Course (Classic) is an 18-hole, par-72 public heathland course in Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. The layout plays across sandy soils with a high water table, and gorse and bracken line the edges throughout. Water is a recurring factor. Hole 2, Canal Turn, is a 626-yard par 5 with a risk-reward dogleg, water hazard, and shucks off the tee. Hole 12, The Dip, is the stroke-index-1 par 4 at 427 yards, where water narrows the fairway on a dogleg right. Hole 14, The Bushes, is a 470-yard par 4 with water both right and left of the fairway. Practice options include an 18-bay driving range and the Down Royal Golf Academy, which runs junior and adult lessons. The Bar Bistro serves food and drink on site. Golf ReviewsJuly 04, 2025Absolutely the worst course there is to play in the north of Ireland. I would have been better wearing my rugby boots because the grass was that long. Not sure if the green keeper needs a new pair of glasses or a new job!! Horrific. Greens were like trampolines, you'd have more fun bouncing up and down on them than playing golf. Avoid at all costs. Cheap for a reason 😡
