Domaine de Murtoli Golf Links, located near Sartène in Corsica, is a 12-hole course designed by Kyle Phillips to evoke golf as it was played at its origins — raw, unmanicured, and deliberately rustic. The layout draws direct inspiration from the 1860s and the early Prestwick Open championships, when the conventions of the game were still being written. That historical reference is not decorative: the design avoids the shaped, replanted terrain common to modern courses in favour of natural scenery set between sea and mountains. Phillips built the course to suit a wide range of players, from beginners to experienced golfers, while maintaining a genuinely demanding challenge. Its character is considered unique in France and, perhaps, in Europe — a combination of high standards and untouched natural surroundings that is rarely found together.
