Designed by Phil Ryan of Pacific Coast Design, the 18-hole layout presents a stern challenge through its small greens, which demand precise approach play, and extensive bunker complexes along fairways and around the greens. The signature hole is the par-3 12th, a short hole made memorable by a giant red monkey statue placed in the greenside bunker. The figure is a nod to Chinese folklore: course construction began in 2004, the Year of the Monkey.
