Crystal Lake Golf Club

Crystal Lake Golf Club is a popular round among Hole19 golfers in Michigan, set alongside Crystal Lake with views of the water and abundant wildlife throughout the round. The front nine, designed by Michigan architect Bruce Matthews and opened in 1970, winds through a rolling meadow dotted with native cherry and apple trees. Wide fairways and rolling terrain make it accessible for all skill levels, and the side stretches to nearly 3,500 yards from the Blue Tees. The back nine was originally designed by Bruce's son Jerry Matthews and opened in 1987, later renovated by the Keillor family to improve playability for everyday golfers. Water hazards and strategically placed bunkers raise the challenge on this tighter, more winding layout. The 18th hole caps the round with a 400-yard dogleg right, its undulating green perched just below the clubhouse.
