Country Club of North Carolina (Dogwood)

Designed by Ellis Maples and Willard Byrd, Country Club of North Carolina (Dogwood) opened in 1963 as a private 18-hole course in Pinehurst, North Carolina. The layout moves across rolling hills through long leaf pines and past picturesque lakes. The course has appeared on Golf Digest's Top 100 Courses in the U.S. for 33 consecutive years, beginning with a 1966 listing, and currently ranks #5 on the North Carolina Golf Panel for 2026. Its tournament record spans the 1965 North Carolina Amateur, the 1971 and 1972 U.S. Professional Match Play Championship, the 1980 U.S. Amateur, the 2010 U.S. Girls Junior, the 2021 U.S. Junior Amateur, and the 2027 Southern Amateur. The clubhouse includes the Watson Dining Room, a refined dining setting, and a bar offering a tapas menu.
