Circolo Golf dell'Ugolino

Rated a popular round among Hole19 golfers in Tuscany, Circolo Golf dell'Ugolino has the history to back the attention. Designed by Cecil Blandford and Peter Gannon and opened in 1934, this private 18-hole course sits on the Chianti slopes outside Florence, Italy, among indigenous vines, olive trees, maritime pines, and broom. The course hosted the 40th Italian Open in 1983, and hole 9 — a par 5 of about 450 meters — is where Seve Ballesteros played his famous chip shot that year. The club received a Gold Medal for sporting achievement from the Italian Olympic Committee in 2009 and is included in Fifty Places to Play Golf Before You Die by Chris Santella. Practice facilities include a large putting green, a practice bunker, and a vast area for pitching and chipping. The clubhouse holds a spacious bar on the first floor and a light, spacious restaurant with a superb kitchen, managed by Societá Cucinamo.
