Chia Nan Golf & Country Club

Chia Nan Golf & Country Club occupies 75 hectares of hilly terrain on the eastern edge of the Jia Nan Plain in Tainan City, Taiwan. Designed by American firm Willard C. Byrd & Associates, the par-72, 18-hole layout stretches 6,825 yards, with fairways that wind along hillsides past water hazards and bunkers. A few holes stand out. The 14th plays to a three-level green that slopes from right to left, demanding precise approach play. The par-5 15th is defined by a claw-shaped bunker roughly 100 yards long positioned in the middle of the fairway — a rare obstacle that forces careful course management from tee to green. The design balances natural contours with deliberate landscaping, producing a course that is both visually engaging and genuinely challenging throughout.
