Chequers Golf Club

Chequers Golf Club has been part of the Bullsbrook golfing scene since 1962, moving to its current home off Sounness Drive in 1966. Set in the foothills of Western Australia, the course sits about twenty minutes from Midland or Wanneroo. The 18-hole layout winds through natural bushland, with gum and banksia trees, grass trees, and native wildlife as constant companions. A standout feature is the slightly raised saltine greens — a departure from the bent grass surfaces found at most courses. The routing mixes long holes, short holes, and dog-legs to keep every round varied and demanding. Kangaroos are a regular presence around the putting surfaces, and native birds add to the atmosphere throughout. It is a well-rounded course that rewards the drive out to Bullsbrook.
