Liked the layout of the course, some nice open holes from the tee, and some nice hole layouts. An enjoyable course with room for error, and doesn’t punish overly hard when you make a mistake. Overall though it felt like a public course in terms of condition, greens were typical of a public course which isn’t looked after as well as a private course; bobbly with lots of un-repaired pitch marks… and the whole general condition was average. Bunkers were quite “stoney” too, and the club house has seen better days! There are much better “19th holes” around in my opinion.. However, £40 for a Sunday 7:52 tee off time was good, and we were able to pre-book as non-members… so all in all.. you get what you pay for with Chelsfield Lakes Lakes course.
