Cabot Bordeaux (Les Châteaux) is an 18-hole course in Le Pian-Médoc, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, designed by Bill Coore in 1987 as a tribute to the work of architect Tom Simpson, whose influence shaped some of France's finest layouts. The course plays over sandy soil with heather-lined bunkers and firm, fast fairways — a style that draws clear parallels to classic British heathland courses such as Sunningdale and Swinley Forest. That regional character runs through every hole. Strategy is central to the experience.
